The sun shone for Eventing Southland’s Betavet sponsored event at the picturesque grounds of Donovan Park on Sunday 6th February.  The grounds looked great and the little bit of rain that fell early in the week made for near perfect underfoot conditions.  The course designers Jade McRae and Jim Hazlett made a superb job of their courses.  All the tracks were presented with care and rode well. The extra effort in presentation was well received and appreciated by the riders.

Gemma Johnson made a valiant effort of her first 2* start to jump clear in the cross country to take the win in the Saddlery Warehouse CCN2*.

Alex De Geest and Argenteuil led from start to finish to win the Eastern Physiotherapy CCN105 from Kate Hamilton and Il Mafioso in 2nd and Montana Hewson and Southern Charm in 3rd.

The Witches Brew CCN95 was won by Katrina Cook on Dixie.

The Excel Equine NZPCA95 was a close tussle with Sophie White and Second Edition coming out on top by 0.3 points from Mackenzie Jordan and Ludoviso FE and Kate Hamilton and Devito third.

The biggest class of the day was won by Heidi Green and My Rainbow Rhythm in the Comfy Equine Rubber Matting NZPC 80 from Holly Crosswell and Airtime and Holly McGowan and Fangio.

The Saddle Tree CCN65 class was won by Melissa Proctor and Stonefield Xquisite, with Shelly Vince and Miyagi second and Brooklyn Neuman and Penny Duke third.
