World number two Tim Price is joining forces with Elizabeth Power (IRL), Joseph Murphy (IRL) and Peter Flareup (DEN) as the Rest of the World Team to compete in the indoor eventing at the Sweden International Horse Show.
It’s more than bragging rights these riders are chasing, with a John Deere tractor on offer for the individual winner as well as cast to the top team.
Power won the event last year and is returning on her star Doonaveragh O One and has been in fine form recently, finishing just behind Michael Jung (GER) at the Stuttgart Indoor Cross Country.
Price will line up aboard Boleybawn Fernhill, who belongs to Amanda Brieditis. Brieditis is currently Tim and Jonelle Price’s working student/home rider and rode the horse at the Young Rider Championships for Sweden this summer.
Murphy rides the experienced Irish international Electric Cruise.
But their mission to Sweden almost finished before it started when the team found itself without a truck, however Kiwi rider Bruce Haskell came to the party and all is now on track.
The team will compete against others from Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden on Thursday evening (SWE time). The indoor cross country is hugely popular and held on opening evening of the four day show.
