Eventer Andrew Nicholson was the only Kiwi to complete in the CCI4* Luhmuhlen in Germany
Caroline Powell and Tim Rusbridge were among a number who withdrew their horses before the final horse inspection.
Nicholson and Teseo added 13 penalties in the showjumping to finish on 65.1. Julia Krajewski (GER) and Samourai du Thot edged past overnight leader Bettina Hoy (GER) and Designer 10 to take victory in the CCI4* despite a rail, finishing on 41.1. Nicola Wilson (GBR) and Lizzie Brown’s former horse Bulana got up for second on 41.7, with Hoy in third on 43 after taking a rail and adding three time to their tally.
However, Hoy took the honours in the CIC3* aboard Seigneur Medicott on 27.3, with Michael Jung (GER) and Star Connection second on 35.6 and Sandra Auffarth (GER) rounding out the German dominance in third place aboard Opgun Louvo on 36.2.
