A quad of Kiwi combinations are heading to the FEI WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in France this week.

Samantha Lissington and Quantas R will line up in the CH-M-YH-CCI3*-L – for seven-year-olds, with Joe Meyer on SF Sportsfield Rising Star, and Amanda Goldsbury with Cooley on Ice and Coolnorran Cooley in the CH-M-YH-CCI2*-L – for six-year-olds.

Samantha has had wins this year with Quantas R in the CCI3*-S at Aston Le Walls and CCI2*-L at Millstreet and they were fourth in their latest outing in CCI-YH-3*S at Charlbury recently.
The seven-year-old championship has attracted 70 combinations from 17 countries.

Amanda and Cooley on Ice recently won the CCI-YH-2*-S at Carlow in Ireland recently and picked up a third aboard Coolnorran Cooley in the CCI-YH-2*-S at Millstreet earlier in the year. SF Sportsfield Rising Star is a new ride for the usually US-based Joe.

The six-year-old champs have attracted 48 combinations from 21 countries.

The first horse inspection is on Wednesday followed by two days of dressage then both sections will be challenged by Pierre Michelet (FRA) in the cross country and finally Jean Pierre Cosnuau (FRA) in the showjumping.

Tim Price is the last Kiwi to have won the breeding championships when he and Happy Boy took the seven-year-old crown in 2019.
